Cookie Policy

This page lists every cookie www.yacoda.com sets, what each one is for, and which of them need your consent. It is the list the cookie banner points at, so it is kept to what this site actually does — not to what the software it is built on is capable of. The Privacy Policy covers personal data more broadly.

Strictly necessary — always active

These are needed for the site to work at all. They carry no advertising or profiling purpose, and under the ePrivacy rules they do not require consent, so the banner does not offer to switch them off.

session_id Yacoda / Odoo

Keeps you signed in and keeps the contents of your cart between pages. Set on every visit. Not readable by scripts in your browser.

frontend_lang Yacoda / Odoo

Remembers the language you are reading the site in.

tz Yacoda / Odoo

Your time zone, so that cohort dates and times are shown in your own.

website_cookies_bar Yacoda / Odoo

Remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner, so you are not asked again on every page.

Set only when you do something specific

None of these are set on an ordinary visit. Each appears only in the situation described.

utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign Yacoda / Odoo

Set only if you arrive through a link in one of our newsletters or campaigns, so that we can tell which link brought you. They record the campaign, not you, and they are not used to build a profile.

Stripe cookies Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd — Ireland (EU)

Set by Stripe on the payment step of checkout only (for example __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid), to detect and prevent card fraud. They are Stripe's cookies, governed by Stripe's privacy policy. If you never reach the payment step, they are never set.

Google or Facebook sign-in Google Ireland Ltd / Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd

Only if you choose to sign in with one of them. Those cookies belong to Google or Meta and are set on their domains during the sign-in flow, not on ours.

Analytics — no cookies at all

We use Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Estonia) to see which pages are read and which links bring people to the site. We chose it because it is deliberately privacy-preserving:

• it sets no cookies, which is why the banner has no analytics option to decline;
• it does not follow you across other websites and does not build a profile of you;
• it does not store your IP address — the address is used momentarily to derive a one-way, daily-rotating hash, so that a repeat visit on the same day is not counted twice, and cannot be turned back into an address;
• the data is processed in the EU.

The measurement script is loaded from plausible.io, which means Plausible receives your IP address and browser user-agent in the act of serving it, as any server does for any request. That is what the point above is about: it is used and discarded, not stored against you.

What this site does not use

Stated explicitly, because the software this site is built on supports all of it and generic cookie policies tend to list it whether or not it is switched on:

• no advertising or marketing cookies, and no ad network;
• no Google Analytics (_ga, _gat, _gid) and no Google Ads cookies (__gads, __gac);
• no live-chat cookie (im_livechat_previous_operator) — there is no live chat on this site;
• no selling or sharing of any of this to third parties.

Controlling cookies

The cookie banner appears on your first visit and records your choice in website_cookies_bar. Because everything optional on this site is set only in the specific situations listed above — and analytics uses no cookies — declining leaves the site fully usable.

You can also clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. Blocking the strictly-necessary ones will stop the cart and sign-in from working; that is a limitation of how the web works, not a choice we made.

Changes to this policy

If we add a service that sets cookies, this page changes before it goes live, and the date at the top moves. It is maintained alongside the site's source code rather than edited in a content manager, so a change here is reviewed like any other change to the site.
