Registration rights and obligations

Registration entails a right to participate in the course: right to attend seminars and exercises, to access to course material, to make use of breakfast, coffee-breaks and sandwich lunches, and to enjoy a dinner on Tuesday.

Registration entails an obligation to pay the registration fee.

Yacoda reserves the right to revoke the right-to-participate if the invoice is not paid in a timely manner (within 30 days) and after an email reminder. Exceptions may be granted via email.

Program execution

Yacoda reserves the right to make changes to the course program without prior notice when deemed needed to improve its quality.

Computer problems

While the software used in the computer exercises has been extensively tested on many system configurations, its correct functioning cannot be guaranteed on any participant's personal computer, and a malfunction does not oblige Yacoda to a fix or compensation.

In case of malfunction, workarounds may be available in the form of collaboration with co-participants, the use of a virtual machine, or the use of an online server.

Cancellation by Yacoda

In the event of a cancellation of the course,

Yacoda shall refund the participant with the full registration fee,

and shall not be held accountable for other costs incurred by the participant in relation with the event.

Cancellation by participant

Upon registration, the participant is allowed two days to cancel the registration and the corresponding obligation to pay without further consequences.

Starting on day three after registration, cancellation entails a refund of the registration fee and an obligation to pay a cancellation fee and administrative fee:

Prior to August 13, 2024: cancellation fee equal to 0% of the registration fee,

or prior to September 13, 2024: cancellation fee equal to 50% of the registration fee,

or prior to October 13, 2024: cancellation fee equal to 70% of the registration fee,

or prior to November 2, 2024: cancellation fee equal to 95% of the registration fee,

or at later date: 100% of the registration fee.

The administrative fee amounts to 10 EUR.

Instead of a cancellation and associated refund and fees, the applicant can opt for one of two alternatives prior to November 18, 2024:

* Transfer this agreement with Yacoda to another participant.

* Get access to an online self-paced course that is similar in contents.

Covid measures

If the government or the venue introduce rules that prohibit a physical gathering of the group of course participants, the course will switch to a live online experience.

Teaching material

The material (slides and computer code) shared with participants during the course can be

used perpetually by the participant for personal use, but its sharing does not transfer copyright

to the participant. Yacoda is not obliged to (re-)share the material with the participant after the

end of the course.

Legal disputes

Only the court of Leuven, Belgium, is amenable to resolve legal disputes of this agreement.

Ruled illegality of selected terms shall not invalidate remaining terms in this agreement.
